Lynxes Are Being Trapped in MN

The Center for Biological Diversity is fighting for the Lynx's life. In Minnesota, there are only around 50 of the wild cats left after the feds have weakened their protections to the bare minimum, allowing them to continually be trapped and now a 528-acre open-pit mine is further threatening the Lynxes. While this mining is not legal in the Superior National Forest, the Forest Service is violating the endangered species act to allow it and the death of more wildlife.

A Serval in Bed

Servals are gorgeous creatures. I'd love to see one of these majestic wild cats, but I don't think I'd like waking up to one very much. That's what happened to an Atlanta woman whose husband got out of bed, let the dog out and somehow let a wild cat into their house. She woke up to the cat in bed with her!

Save Feral Cats in Australia

Australia has an epidemic of feral cats, which is causing a lot of their small mammal populations to decline. While this is definitely a problem that needs remedying, the nation is declaring war on cats as a solution, and planning to kill two million cats by next year. They plan on baiting, shooting and poisoning cats, having declared them national pests. It's such a humane, nauseating plan, and there are far more humane methods to take.

Extinct Leopard Resurfaces

Every day it seems like we're faced with the news of yet another species gone forever, another animal wiped out largely by our own selfish or ignorant (often both) actions. I read some good news about a leopard species previously thought to be extinct today: a clouded leopard species that was thought to be extinct previously was spotted in Taiwan recently, proving that the cat is still here with us.

The Puma Pet

Have you heard of Messi, the puma kept as a pet in Russia? The couple who adopted Messi did so in order to save the big cat's life. The zoo that housed Messi could not take care of the cat's many health problems, so when the couple, who fell in love with the animal, offered to buy the cat to keep as a pet, they were allowed to do so.

Baby Caracals Will Make You Smile

If the news has you down, this collection of baby caracals will perk up your spirits. Thinking Humanity is great at collecting fun photos of different animals but these baby caracals may be just what you need to get through the day, especially if the idea of a national emergency over not healthcare or global warming or Flint's water but a border wall has you growling every five seconds.
