The story is a bittersweet one: a dead kitten was found in a yard in the UK, prompting a cat rescue to go searching for the rest of its litter. While a mama cat was discovered, no litter could be seen--until said mama climbed a tree and led them to her litter inside a bird's nest!
I have so many questions for her. Did she force the birds out to make it hers? What led her there to begin with? Surely she would have worried about them falling. Perhaps the danger on the ground was worse to her than the safety promised in the tree. One of the kittens unfortunately died from falling from the nest but now they are safe.
It's probably not the worst decision a mama cat ever made. My first cat had her litter at my feet on my bed at night when I was twelve! I'm flattered that she chose it as a safe space (maybe she wanted my help?) but my feet were wet so I was afraid I might have kicked them at some point! How about you? Where's the weirdest place you've ever heard of a cat having kittens at?
