Re: PLEASE HELP Cat Jealous of New Baby and Family

Cat Jealous of New Family and Baby on the way At the end of my rope! I've had Princess since 1989, she is vibrant, has tons of energy and she needs ALOT of attention and love. Within the last year I have moved twice, gotten married, gained a husband, a four year old step-daughter, and I am 8 months pregnant with a new one on the way. My cat is seriously acting out. She: Only drinks water from the toilet and sinks, although she has plenty of water. Constantly follows me around the house, is truly my shadow. Is extremely protective of me, and sad I can not give her the same amount of attention Has to sleep between my legs snuggled up in the covers Refuses not to sleep and bathe on our bed or onto the DVD Player Has picked up the habit of licking me in the mouth when I am sleep Has gained accustomed to begin scolded, and does not change her behavior Advoids my four year old at all costs Whenever I try to bond with my unborn child by talking to him, she feels left out and becomes sad. Will have to give up her room when the baby comes. I am also worried because her litter box is currently in the babies room. In two months she will no longer have her own room. Please help me I am seriously considering getting rid Princess. Some of these behaviors are dangerous during pregnancy and I have serious concerns about how she will act when the baby arrives. She seems to understand by my growing stomach that there is something in there. But she does not understand going from first place to fourth. Please help!

giving a cat away

I'm allergic to cats and my husband has had his cat for about 10 years. We were recently married and he needs to give the cat away. He's asked several friends and no one seems to want a 10 year old cat. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it. Does anyone have any suggestions on where we can find someone who would take her? We live in NY.
