my cat has picked up this habbit of bringing in mice or whatever he can catch into the house and eating it. unfortunately it hold in that there is mess to clean up after his meals. how can i stop this?

Usually when a cat does this, they are showing thier love to you by bringing you a gift. My family had this problem, and so we made a cat door that went into our garage, but not into the main house. This way, our cats had shelter and food, but the mess would not ruin the carpet because they left our treats in the garage. Our cats were let in and outside when they pleased by one of the family, (but not if they had birds or mice in thier mouths!). We successfully narrowed down the area where the gift could be dropped off, and cleaning was much easier in the garage.
